national, was apprehended at the Indo-Nepal border after attempting to enter
India without proper travel credentials.
He had a Chinese passport, but no Indian visa. Officials are probing his
motives and looking for signs of illegal activity.
There are legal processes
pending. A 62-year-old Chinese national called Zhang Yong was caught in the
Sonauli area near the Indo-Nepal border on Monday for allegedly attempting to
enter India without proper travel permits, according to a police officer. The
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stopped Zhang during a regular check as he attempted
to enter from Nepal into India, according to Station Officer Ajeet Pratap Singh
of the Sonauli police station. Despite having a Chinese passport, he lacked the
required Indian visa and legal entry paperwork. Authorities are initiating
legal action against Zhang and conducting an investigation to establish whether
he is involved in any criminal actions. A case has been officially opened as
part of the continuing investigation.
