Hooghly, 11 August (H.S.): On the last Monday of Shravan month, a devotee died while offering water at Tarakeshwar temple in Hooghly district. The name of the deceased is Amit Pakde (35). He was a resident of Bally area of Howrah district. As per information, on Monday morning, ten friends reached Sheorafully on bike to offer water at Tarakeshwar temple. They took water from Sheorafully Nimai Tirtha Ghat and left for Tarakeshwar on bike. Amit's health suddenly deteriorated at Bajitpur intersection before entering the Tarakeshwar temple.
At first he felt that his health was deteriorating due to extreme heat, and he did not tell anyone anything. Later he gradually became unconscious. He was taken to Tarakeshwar Rural Hospital. Doctors his started treatment. But he died a little later.
One of Amit's friend said, Everything was going well. We came here having a lot of fun. He said that he was feeling a little unwell, but he himself said that he will be fine. I don't understand what happened.
However, the police have sent the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter.
