Lucknow,
10 Aug (HS): Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, slammed the BJP
on Sunday, accusing it of being a global breeding ground for election
malpractice. Yadav claimed in a post on X that it was involved in both rights
denial and vote manipulation in order to bring democracy to an end. We will not
allow the BJP's attempt to destroy democracy to prevail, Yadav stated, urging
people to comprehend the ruling party's claimed mode of operation. He referred
to the ruling party as a university of corruption and a global institution of
electoral fraud.
The
former Uttar Pradesh chief minister claimed that the BJP manipulates voter
rolls with the help of some bureaucrats, adding bogus voters who support it and
removing names of opposition supporters. He also accused the BJP of stationing
selected people at polling stations to cast bogus votes, intimidating voters
with guns to prevent them from voting, forcing its supporters to vote multiple
times, creating fake IDs to enable fraudulent voting, and even replacing EVMs
with security forces.
Though
Yadav did not specifically address the assembly election, his tweet comes at a
time when Congress leaders have expressed severe concerns about flaws in the
electoral process.
Yadav
also said that the BJP sometimes ensures that votes cast against it are
rejected in front of CCTV cameras, and in other circumstances, district
magistrates are forced to change victory certificates. Yadav stated that
today's voters are saying no to the BJP. Earlier this year, Yadav raised a
similar point during the Milkipur assembly by-election in Uttar Pradesh.
