Kolkata, 10 August (H.S.): The RG Kar victim's mother was injured during the Nabanna Abhiyan on Saturday. She was undergoing treatment at a private hospital near the bypass. BJP leader Sajal Ghosh said she will be taken to Kalyani AIIMS on Sunday. She will stay here, under observation. We will take her to AIIMS tomorrow morning, he said.
She is in the emergency department there. Doctors from the neuro and emergency departments are treating her. The hospital authorities had initially decided to discharge her. They had advised her to rest at home. However, looking at her mental condition, she was kept under observation that night.
After meeting the RG Kar victim's mother and Suvendu Adhikari in the afternoon, BJP leader Sajal Ghosh went to the hospital on Saturday night. He spoke to hospital officials. He was very angry with the hospital and said, If I get treatment here, they will kill me. Because there is so much pressure that I am being kept under observation. In a way, I have been admitted. The patient is saying that there is no problem. But due to government pressure, not a single patient was sent back, nor was he admitted. After the death of a doctor, the hospital has come under government pressure. On the other hand, on Saturday, Abhaya's father revealed the political connection behind Abhaya Manch. He told that Abhaya Manch is associated with the CPM. However, Dr. Tamonash Chaudhary, one of the conveners of the forum, did not agree with this comment of the RG Kar victim's father. He said, Abhaya Manch is not a political forum. This forum is not under any political party. Abhaya Manch is definitely a political movement. Because, the brutal incident happened in this state and we, the companions of Abhaya Manch, doctors, common people, are on the streets since August 9, 2024 in protest against this incident. Of course, this is a political movement. But, Abhaya Manch is not under any political party.
State Congress president Subhankar Sarkar also visited the hospital on Saturday.
