Jammu, 10 August (H.S.): A significant awareness programme was held at R.N. Tagore Hr. Sec. School, Nanak Nagar, Jammu under the banner of the Jammu & Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee (JKPSCC), bringing together private school leaders and educationists to discuss the growing complexities in educational regulations.
The session opened with an in-depth explanation of SRO 259 and highlighted the misapplication of SRO 123 to new schools. It also criticized the complicated process of obtaining Revenue and Traffic NOCs, calling them tools of harassment rather than facilitation.
During the occasion, the speakers discussed the operational struggles private schools face, urging immediate reforms. Balkaran Singh (Coordinator) raised concerns over the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) process, labeling it burdensome and unclear.
Gurtaj called for unity and simplification in management committee regulations, while Gandeep Manhas stressed strengthening the association for long-term impact. Dr. Hitesh Mahajan addressed the misuse of Revenue NOCs, and Dr. Manish Gulati motivated the gathering with calls for unity and clarity.
Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu, Working President, summarized the concerns and reaffirmed JKPSCC’s commitment to protecting private schools. President Rameshwar Singh Manhas advocated a single-window clearance system and fair norms.
