Barpeta (Assam), 10 August (HS): The body of a truck driver was found near a parked truck on the national highway at Kismat Darikar Dahlapara in Sorbhog, Barpeta district. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Vishwakarma (50), a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to sources, the body was found near truck number BR-28-GB-1715, sparking tension in the area. Locals suspect that he might have been checking the truck’s tyres when a small vehicle hit him and fled. A broken car window glass was also recovered from the spot, strengthening this suspicion.
Meanwhile, Sorbhog police have launched an investigation. They stated that it will be clear whether it was an accident or a murder only after the probe is completed.
