Nagpur, 01 Aug

(HS): For the first time after its constitution in 2005, a special sitting of the

Information Commission was held in Gadchiroli. As many as 100 second appeals

cases were entertained by the Commission, which was attended by the Chief

Information Commissioner, Rahul Pande, and the Information Commissioner of Nagpur Bench, Gajanan Nimdev.

The cases

pending till 2023 were disposed of under the ‘’Mahiti Ayog Aplya Daari’

(Information Commission at Your Doorsteps) mission, aimed at zero pendency.

Pande assured

that another meeting will be held to handle cases up to 2024-2025, with the

cooperation of the district administration.

The people will

not have to travel to Mumbai for their cases, which would save time, money, and
