Nagpur, 01 Aug
(HS): For the first time after its constitution in 2005, a special sitting of the
Information Commission was held in Gadchiroli. As many as 100 second appeals
cases were entertained by the Commission, which was attended by the Chief
Information Commissioner, Rahul Pande, and the Information Commissioner of Nagpur Bench, Gajanan Nimdev.
The cases
pending till 2023 were disposed of under the ‘’Mahiti Ayog Aplya Daari’
(Information Commission at Your Doorsteps) mission, aimed at zero pendency.
Pande assured
that another meeting will be held to handle cases up to 2024-2025, with the
cooperation of the district administration.
The people will
not have to travel to Mumbai for their cases, which would save time, money, and
labour, Nimdev said.
Deputy
Secretary, Information Commission, Rohini Jadhav, and ten officers of the
Commission, and other staff were present.
