BJP submits deputation to Bansberia Chairman on local issues


Hooghy, 1 August (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday staged a strong protest over local problems in Bansberia municipality area of Hooghly district. Party workers, led by local Mandal President Suresh Choudhury, took out a rally from Panchanantala to Bansberia Municipality with their seven-point charter of demands.

As soon as the rally reached in front of the municipality office at around 12 noon, the police stopped it near the main gate. After that, the BJP workers raised slogans in front of the municipality office.

Later, an eight-member delegation of the BJP met the municipality chairman and handed over a deputation of their demands. Many local leaders including BJP's Hooghly Organizational District General Secretary Suresh Shaw, Vice President Jayraj Pal, leader Swaraj Ghosh, Rana Mukherjee, Vishwajit Rai, Ganesh Ghanthai were present during the protest.

Raising the problems of the local citizens, the BJP leaders have given an ultimatum of 10 days to the chairman. The BJP has made it clear that if the problems are not resolved within the stipulated time frame, they will launch a movement on a large scale.

The BJP also alleged that the civic administration is continuously ignoring the issues of public interest, due to which the common citizens are facing a lot of trouble.
