Kokrajhar (Assam), 01 August (HS): With the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections approaching, political parties have intensified their ground-level campaigns. On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a massive joining rally at Kurshakati in the Guma area of Parbatjhora, Kokrajhar district.

Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal attended the event, where hundreds of men and women from various political and non-political backgrounds formally joined the BJP, inspired by the party’s policies.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Singhal said, “This time, the lotus will bloom in the Guma.” BJP leaders claimed that the overwhelming turnout at the rally indicates a strong chance of victory for the party’s candidate in the upcoming BTR elections from the Guma region.

Several senior BJP leaders, including Kokrajhar district president Gosai Basumatary, EM Arup Kumar Dey, Sajal Singh, and Guma Mandal president Meenati Roy, were present at the event.
