Shocking Domestic Violence Case in West Bengal: Man Alleges Wife Poured Boiling Water, Bit His Private Parts

Kolkata, 8 July (H.S.) -A disturbing case of domestic violence has emerged from the Maherpur area under English Bazar police station in Malda district, West Bengal, where a man has accused his wife of pouring boiling water on him and assaulting his private parts. The victim, Saddam Hussain, filed a written complaint against his wife, Najima, on Monday night.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred when Saddam intervened to stop an alleged physical attack by his wife on his mother, Noyna Banu. Saddam claimed that Najima responded violently by throwing hot water on his chest and abdomen and then attempted to bite his genitals.

Saddam, a small-time businessman, was immediately rushed to Moulpur Rural Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have confirmed serious burn injuries on his chest and stomach.

The couple has been married for eight years and has a son. Saddam alleged that in recent months, Najima had been mentally and physically abusing his mother and younger sister in his absence, as he is frequently away for business. He claimed that Najima was pressuring him to move out and establish a separate household.

Recounting the incident, Saddam said, “She was attacking my mother with a stick. When I tried to stop her, she threw boiling water on me and then bit me in a private area. I screamed, and neighbours rushed in to rescue me.”

In response, Najima has also filed a counter-complaint against Saddam and his family, denying the allegations and claiming that the altercation was only over household expenses.

Local gram panchayat member Mizan Ali commented on the incident, stating, “Saddam is known as a decent young man. The injuries he has sustained clearly indicate that he was attacked. The police must conduct a fair investigation and take appropriate action against those responsible.”

The police have registered complaints from both parties and initiated a detailed inquiry into the matter.
