New Delhi, July 8 (H.S.): BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for using objectionable words towards President Droupadi Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind, labeling the Congress party's inclination as anti-Dalit, anti-Adivasi, and anti-Constitution. Bhatia highlighted Kharge's past comments, including calling Ram Nath Kovind covid and Droupadi Murmu as MurmaJi and alleging that Murmu's presidency was linked to land mafia activities, claiming these remarks insulted both leaders and marginalized communities.
He demanded a public apology from Kharge and urged Congress workers to push for his resignation, warning that failure to apologize would lead to widespread anger among citizens. Bhatia described Kharge as a remote-controlled leader, implying that his comments were influenced by Rahul Gandhi.
Another BJP spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla, recalled an earlier incident where Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury mistakenly referred to Murmu as “Rashtrapatni,” reinforcing the ongoing criticism of the Congress party's treatment of these leaders. Bhatia concluded by stating that various societal groups were condemning Kharge and Congress for these remarks.
