6 July (HS): An encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut area resulted in the arrest
of a man wanted in connection with a fatal attack on a contractor. The suspect,
Shoaib alias Suhaib alias Tiddi, was shot in the left leg and sent to CHC Sardhana
for treatment, said Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Kumar Mishra. Mishra
said Shoaib was wanted in connection with Saturday night's attack on contractor
Qadir Baig. Baig was hurt during the
encounter, and a report was filed at the Sardhana police station. According to
the police, the suspect opened fire as a police squad approached Chur village
on the Sardhana-Mulhaida route during patrol on Sunday morning, prompting the
policemen to respond in self-defence.
Shoaib
resides in Meerut's Sardhana police station area. According to authorities, a handgun and ammo
were retrieved from the accused. According to the first inquiry, various
criminal charges against the suspects have been lodged, including those under
the Arms Act.
