6 July (HS): The police team had an encounter with cow smugglers late Saturday
night in Moondhapande police station area of the district. During the
operation, the police arrested three cow smugglers. During this, two cow
smugglers got injured by bullets in the retaliatory action by the police. The
police admitted both of them to the district hospital for treatment. The police
surrounded and caught the third accused after the encounter. The three arrested
accused were going to commit cow slaughter.

of Police Nagar Kumar Ranvijay Singh said on Sunday that the police team of
Mundhapande police station was patrolling and checking the area under the
leadership of SHO Mundhapande Rajiv Kumar Sharma at around 1 am on Saturday
night. At the same time, information was received from the informer that some
cow smugglers have reached the forest of Veerpur Bariyar village of the police
station area for cow slaughter. On receiving the information, the police of
Mundhapande police station cordoned off the forest of Veerpur Bariyar and
started checking. During this time, the police saw three suspects. When they
were signaled to stop, the accused started firing at the police. In the
retaliatory firing by the police, two accused miscreants got shot in the leg
and fell there. The police arrested them, after which one of their companions
was trying to escape from the spot, who was also caught by the police team by
cordoning off.

City further said that the injured accused have been identified as Chhote alias
Bashir son of Khan Bahadur, Ashraf Ali son of Hazrat Ali, resident of village
Bahaypur of police station Mundhapande area. The third accused is Saddam son of
Kalua, resident of village Veerpur Wariyar of the same police station area.
Pistol, cartridges and empty cartridges along with animal slaughtering
equipment have been recovered from both of them. Both have been admitted to the
district hospital for treatment. A separate case of murderous attack is being
registered against the accused for their defiant act during the encounter.
Other legal action is being taken.
