6 July (HS): Two criminals who tried to kill Amit Kishore Jain of Thana Link
Road by shooting him snatched the service revolver of a police constable and
fired bullets. The police also fired bullets in retaliation in which both the
criminals became lame. This incident happened when the police was taking the
criminals with them to recover the revolver used in the murder.

Shweta Kumar Yadav said that on June 18, at Link Road police station, the names
of Ashwani alias Dilawar resident of Ambedkar Nagar Bhud, Kotwali Nagar police
station district Bulandshahr and Amit Yadav resident of Shahpur Bamheta came to
light on the charge of attempt to murder Virendra Kishore Jain on Amit Kishore
Jain. Both were taken into custody. When both were questioned about the
motorcycle and mobile phone, they asked to recover the motorcycle and mobile
phone used in the incident by going to the spot.
During the recovery, the
accused Amit Yadav snatched the service revolver of a constable of Link Road
police team in an empty place behind the Kaushambi bus stand and fired at the
police team with the intention of killing. In the retaliatory firing done by
the police team in self-defense, Amit Yadav got shot in the leg, due to which
the accused got injured. In the same sequence, as told by accused Ashwani alias
Dilawar, while recovering the mobile phone used in the crime from the bushes
near the empty ground near the recovery spot Brajvihar railway gate, he took
advantage of the situation and took out the illegal weapon kept there and fired
directly at the police team with the intention to kill them.
The criminal got
injured in the retaliatory firing done by the police team in self-defense. Two
pistols, one motorcycle and one mobile phone used in the incident were
recovered from their possession. Both the accused have been arrested and sent
to hospital for treatment. Further legal proceedings are underway.
