Lucknow,

6 July (HS): CM Yogi paid homage to Dr Mukherjee by offering flowers to his

statue. The '125th Jayanti Smriti Varsh' will be celebrated for two years by

the Ministry of Culture. The 125th birth anniversary of eminent nationalist

thinker Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee is being celebrated with feelings of

reverence, pride and inspiration in Lucknow on Sunday. On this occasion, CM

Yogi Adityanath reached the Civil Hospital and paid homage to Shyama Prasad

Mukherjee by offering flowers to his statue. Interestingly, a series of two-year

special events will be run across the state under the '125th Jayanti

Smriti Varsh' by the Ministry of Culture from July 6, 2025 to July 6, 2027,

which was launched on Sunday. Through these events, the younger generation will

be made aware of Dr. Mukherjee's ideals, his life and commitment to the

integrity of India.

To

honor his birth anniversary, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

joined the country in paying a modest homage to his staunch protector of

national unity and cultural heritage. In a statement on X, he stated that

having two constitutions, heads, and flags in a same nation is

unsustainable. “This was the life

commitment of the great leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who worked

tirelessly for a unified India.

Humble

tributes to the founding president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, a strong

nationalist thinker and the immortal martyr of Kashmir integration, revered Dr.

Mukherjee ji on his birth anniversary! Your life is the unbroken light of

national unity, education and nationalism, which will continue to give

direction to the generations of India,” he posted on X.
