Lakhimpur (Assam), 4 July (HS): Several villages of Jonai subdivision have been submerged due to floods in the Dikhari river. Roads, residences and agricultural lands have completely gone under water. More than 20 villages including 1 No., 2 No., 3 No. Jamuguri as well as 1 and 2 No. Uluvani, Lanka of Ramdhan Dikhari Gram Panchayat of Jonai are affected by the flood.

Due to the rising water level of the river on Friday, water is flowing on many roads, due to which traffic has come to a standstill. There is an atmosphere of panic and anxiety among the flood-affected villagers. People have demanded immediate relief and assistance from the administration.
