04 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to
Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary on Friday, praising him for bringing
Sanatan Dharma to the global arena via the philosophy of Vedanta. Adityanath
posted on X in Hindi that the higher the challenge, the greater the win. He
went on to say, Humble tribute to the young monk, 'Rashtrarishi' Swami
Vivekananda, who awakened the sleeping India with the proclamation of
civilization, culture, and self-respect. Say with pride that we are Hindus on
his death anniversary!
Adityanath
stated that Vivekanad popularised Sanatan culture over the world via Vedanta,
as well as his service and self-confidence. Your vision of nation-building and
the motto 'Utho, Jago' will continue to inspire young India for centuries, the
CM remarked.

Mahana, Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, and deputy chief ministers
Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also commemorated Vivekanand on Friday.
Swami Vivekananda, also known as Narendranath Datta before becoming a monk, was
born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863, and died on July 4, 1902. The monk rose to
prominence after delivering a lecture at the World Parliament of Religions in
Chicago in 1893, during which he persuaded the western intellectuals to
recognize India's religious traditions.
