Lucknow,

04 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to

Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary on Friday, praising him for bringing

Sanatan Dharma to the global arena via the philosophy of Vedanta. Adityanath

posted on X in Hindi that the higher the challenge, the greater the win. He

went on to say, Humble tribute to the young monk, 'Rashtrarishi' Swami

Vivekananda, who awakened the sleeping India with the proclamation of

civilization, culture, and self-respect. Say with pride that we are Hindus on

his death anniversary!

Adityanath

stated that Vivekanad popularised Sanatan culture over the world via Vedanta,

as well as his service and self-confidence. Your vision of nation-building and

the motto 'Utho, Jago' will continue to inspire young India for centuries, the

CM remarked.

Mahana, Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, and deputy chief ministers

Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also commemorated Vivekanand on Friday.

Swami Vivekananda, also known as Narendranath Datta before becoming a monk, was

born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863, and died on July 4, 1902. The monk rose to

prominence after delivering a lecture at the World Parliament of Religions in

Chicago in 1893, during which he persuaded the western intellectuals to

recognize India's religious traditions.
