Guwahati, 4 July (HS): Sensation has spread over the disappearance of a tourist from the Assam State Zoo in Guwahati. The police and forest department team have been conducting a joint search operation since Friday morning.

According to the information, a person went inside the zoo with a bag on Thursday evening, but there is no information about him coming out. During the search late at night, a pair of shoes and a bag were recovered from the hilly part of the zoo.

In view of the seriousness of the incident, a police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has reached the spot and the search is going on. Till the last information, no trace of the tourist has been found.

The administration has increased the surveillance and strictness of the people visiting the zoo.
