CM Sarma to inaugurate 'Bodoland Speaks' in Guwahati


Kokrajhar (Assam), 4 July (HS): A historic event titled 'Bodoland Speaks: From Vision to Action' is being organized by the Bodoland Territorial Council, which will bring the aspirations, achievements and voices of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on one platform.

The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 6 at the Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium, Guwahati in the presence of BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro and other distinguished guests.

The main objective of the event is to present the journey of BTR from conflict to cooperation and from isolation to inclusion – in which culture, language, governance and grassroots participation will be key aspects.

The major books to be released on this occasion include - Transforming Bodoland - A Journey of Change in BTR, Looking Within My Reflections (Author BTR CEM Pramod Boro), and Annual Report (2024–25) of Bodoland Happiness Mission. Along with this, a 600-page historical book called BTR Communication Bridge will also be released, which contains 1001 essential words and 1001 sentences of daily use translated into 18 regional languages. It incorporates the diversity of 26 linguistic communities of BTR including Bodo, Assamese, Rabha, Kurukh, Sadari, Nepali, Desi etc..

Important initiatives will also be launched during the program. Also, the Bodoland Lifetime Achievement Award- Lok Colours 2025 will be presented and dialogues with literary institutions and community leaders will mark the day as a celebration of knowledge, heritage and collective future-building.
