Bhubaneswar, 31 July (H.S.): Odisha's School and Mass Education Minister, Nityananda Gond, has assured stringent action in the wake of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak. Addressing the media, the Minister confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway and the Crime Branch has already apprehended individuals involved in the incident.
Emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards examination malpractice, Minister Gond stated, “No matter how influential the person may be, strict action will be taken against those found guilty.” He acknowledged that despite preventive measures, the question paper was leaked by several individuals, and accountability will be ensured through the ongoing Crime Branch probe.
The Minister also revealed that discussions are underway to implement stronger safeguards and enhance transparency in future examinations. “Our priority is to conduct OTET in a fair and transparent manner going forward,” he said.
A revised date for the examination will be announced soon after a thorough review and necessary consultations, he added.
