Seven arrested for allegedly keeping beef in Vishnu temple premises in Hojai district


Hojai (Assam), 31 July (HS): Dubbaka Police in Assam's Hojai district have arrested seven individuals for allegedly placing beef meat in the premises of the Sangmaji Vishnu Temple in Dubbaka.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, triggered tension in the area after police recovered the banned meat from the temple premises. Senior police officials rushed to the spot to control the situation and prevent any escalation.

Following preliminary investigation, the police registered a case (No. 139/25) and launched a manhunt that led to the arrest of seven suspects: Mahbubur Rahman, Fariz Uddin, Khairul Iskam, Kabir Uddin, Shafikul Iskam, Sahab Uddin, and Abdur Rahman.

However, the arrested individuals have claimed innocence and denied involvement in the act. Further investigation is underway.
