Darang (Assam), 31 July (HS): A devastating fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a clothing shop in Mausita Bazar under Dalgaon area of Darang district, reducing property worth around ₹30 lakh to ashes.
The blaze erupted at around 5 AM in a shop named Maa Fashion Store, owned by Omar Ali. According to Ali, the fire was triggered by a short circuit in the inverter system installed inside the shop.
Despite efforts to alert fire services, the response was reportedly delayed. Local residents eventually managed to bring the fire under control and prevent its spread to nearby structures.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
