Jammu, 31 July (H.S.): University of Jammu is organizing four -day “Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme” from tomorrow, providing a vibrant platform for students to engage in transformative academic, cultural and civic experiences.
“The event has been designed to bring together students from the University’s teaching departments as well as from various schools across Jammu, fostering a dynamic inter-institutional exchange of ideas and aspirations,” said JU Vice -Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai, while addressing a curtain raiser press conference on the campus, here today.
While elaborating, Prof Rai said that the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme is a flagship youth engagement initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, envisioned under the national mission of Viksit Bharat@2047. This programme aims to foster a spirit of responsible citizenship. innovation, and social awareness among the youth, preparing them to take on active leadership roles in India’s developmental journey over the next two decades, he added.
During the three-day programme, the Vice-Chancellor informed, JU will host a rich schedule of events focused on experiential learning, youth dialogue, and capacity-building. Activities include a lecture on youth leadership, an elocution competition on Viksit Bharat themes, and an awareness session on Government welfare schemes targeted at young citizens, he said and added that Lt Governor Manoj Sinha will grace the valedictory function on August 3.
The programme will commence with the inauguration of an exhibition showcasing youth-centric initiatives by various Government departments and select University departments, highlighting flagship programmes, achievements, and themes of national importance. Other sessions will address life skills, cybercrime awareness, and financial literacy, alongside interactive events such as quiz competitions, musical performances, sports activities, and yoga exercises.
