New Delhi, July 30(HS): The domestic stock market shows a slight upward trend during early trading, experiencing fluctuations. Trading commenced strongly but quickly shifted into a tussle between buyers and sellers, causing both Sensex and Nifty to briefly dip into negative territory due to selling pressure. However, buying support allowed both indices to recover and move into positive territory.
By 10 AM, Sensex was up by 0.06 percent and Nifty increased by 0.09 percent. Among major stocks, Larsen & Toubro, JSW Steel, Asian Paints, NTPC, and Tata Consumer Products gained between 4.20 percent to 0.79 percent, while Tata Motors, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Hindustan Unilever, Coal India, and ICICI Bank saw declines ranging from 3.37 percent to 0.36 percent. A total of 2,366 stocks were actively traded; 1,495 stocks were up, whereas 871 were down.
In Sensex, 10 of the 30 stocks were gaining, and 20 were dropping, while in Nifty, 30 were in the green and 20 in the red. Sensex opened at 81,594.52 points with a jump of 256.57 points but fell to 81,307.27 points before recovering to 81,389.89 points by 10 AM. Nifty opened at 24,890.40 points with an increase of 69.30 points but dropped to 24,813.90 points before rising to 24,842.40 points. On the previous trading day, Sensex closed at 81,337.95 points, a rise of 446.93 points, and Nifty ended at 24,821.10 points, up by 140.20 points.
