30 July (HS): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was murdered in Binawar

police station area of ​​Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. On

receiving the information, the police reached the spot and after examining the

scene with the forensic team, sent the body for post-mortem.

Area

officer Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay said that Suresh Chandra Gupta (60), a resident

of Vijayangala village, was the BJP Mandal vice-president and a leader of the

Bharatiya Kisan Union. On Tuesday night, he went to guard the overhead tank in

place of his son Rahul. On Wednesday morning, when he did not return home for a

long time, the family members went to wake him up and found that someone had

murdered him.

As

soon as the information of the incident was received, a crowd of villagers

gathered. On receiving the information, police officers, police force and

forensic team reached the spot. Police investigated the crime scene, in which

it was found that Suresh was hit on the head with a brick from behind and on

the body with a sharp weapon. Pieces of brick stained with blood were found at

the crime scene. The Circle Officer said that police teams have been formed to

solve the murder of the BJP leader as soon as possible. The family members are

also being questioned regarding this incident.

Attacks

were also made with sharp weapons: According to the family members, the BJP

Mandal President went to sleep in the overhead tank premises after having

dinner at 9 pm. Late at night someone killed him by crushing his head with a

brick. His body was also attacked with a sharp weapon. People who went out for

a walk at 7 am on Wednesday saw his blood-soaked body lying at the gate of the

overhead tank premises. Pieces of brick stained with blood were found at the

scene of the incident.

As

soon as the information was received, Inspector Ashok Kumar Kamboj reached the

spot with the police team. After this, the forensic team was called. The

forensic team has collected evidence from the scene. The reason behind the

murder could not be ascertained during the interrogation of the family members.

The police have started investigating the murder case. Binawar Inspector Ashok

Kumar Kamboj said that the BJP leader has been murdered. The investigation is

going on. On the basis of the complaint, a case will be registered and the

accused will be arrested.
