Bhubaneswar, 30 July (H.S.): Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of renowned economist, author, and Padma Bhushan awardee Lord Meghnad Desai. In a condolence message shared on social media, Patnaik paid tribute to Desai's vast contributions to economics and public thought.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of eminent economist, author and Padma Bhushan awardee Meghnad Desai. He will be remembered for his erudite commentaries on varied subjects. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, friends, and followers in the hour of grief,” Patnaik wrote.
