Melbourne, July 30(HS): has announced its team for the ODI and T20 series against South Africa, featuring the first call-up for young all-rounder Mitchell Owen and the return of fast bowler Lance Morris to the ODI format. Owen's inclusion comes after an impressive T20 series against West Indies, where he scored 125 runs with a notable half-century in his debut match. Marnus Labuschagne remains in the ODI squad despite being dropped from the Test team.

The selection sees major changes, with the retirement of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell, and Spencer Johnson out due to injury. Several players, including Jake Fraser-McGurk and Sean Abbott, have been dropped. Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood return, while Pat Cummins and Mitchell Stark are rested.

Mitchell Marsh will captain the team in both formats. Chief selector George Bailey highlighted the team's flexible batting order and bowling variety as positive signs moving forward, expressing confidence in Morris's effectiveness across all formats.
