Noida,

30 July (HS): Maulana Sajid Rashidi was physically assaulted by claimed

Samajwadi Party youngsters during a debate in which he purportedly made

disparaging statements about MP Dimple Yadav. A video circulating online by one assailant

claimed credit. Rashidi filed a

complaint, and police are investigating the incident.

Maulana Sajid Rashidi has generated outrage

for reportedly making insulting statements against Dimple Yadav, the MP for

Mainpuri, during a recent mosque visit. His words sparked violent retribution from youths claiming to be

Samajwadi Party members.Rashidi was

slapped by the gang while attending a discussion event in Noida, and one of its

members, Kuldeep Bhati, posted about it on social media.Bhati, in his capacity as state secretary of

the Yuvjan Sabha, Samajwadi Party, advised against insulting women in India. Rashidi

filed a complaint with the police against Kuldeep Bhati, Mohit Nagar, and Shyam

Singh, and the investigation is ongoing.

Maulana

Sajid Rashidi, head of the All India Imam Association (AIIA), justified his

views, stating, As per the Islamic faith, I object to the way she (Dimple

Yadav) sat inside the mosque.

According to the Islamic religion, sitting like that within a mosque is

inappropriate. She should have learned

how to sit from Iqra Hasan. The Maulana

who was present (SP MP Mohibbullah Nadvi) is no longer a Maulana but an

MP. He was not permitted to sit

there. He is a Samajwadi Party MP. He's sitting there with clasped hands, akin

to a slave.
