Nagpur, 30 July (HS):

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced financial assistance of up

to Rs 3 lakh for differently-abled athletes excelling at national and

international levels. This initiative, implemented under the guidance of NMC

Commissioner and Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari, aims to support the

training and development of para-athletes through the Social Development

Department.

Differently-abled

athletes representing Nagpur at state, national, and international sports

events will be eligible for financial support to cover expenses such as

training, purchase or import of sports equipment, and travel costs for

competitions. NMC has invited applications from eligible beneficiaries, which

can be submitted online at www.nmcnagpur.gov.in.

The scheme is open to

athletes with 40 percent or more disabilities, participating in state, national, or international competitions.

Dr. Ranjana Lade, Deputy Commissioner of Social Development, stated that the revised scheme is designed to ensure maximum support for para-athletes at every level of competition.
