New Delhi, July 3 (H.S.): The domestic stock market showed a slight upward trend in early trading today, beginning positively. Tension between buyers and sellers caused fluctuations in the Sensex and Nifty indices. By 10 a.m., the Sensex was up 0.35 percent, while the Nifty rose by 0.33 percent. Major stocks like Tata Steel, Asian Paints, ONGC, and Infosys saw gains ranging from 1.22 percent to 0.62 percent. Conversely, stocks such as Kotak Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, SBI Life Insurance, Trent Limited, and Bajaj Finserve experienced declines between 1.34 percent and 0.90 percent.

A total of 2,369 shares were actively traded, with 1,367 in the green and 1,002 in the red. In the Sensex, out of 30 shares, 14 were positive while 16 were negative. For the Nifty, out of 50 shares, 28 were trading higher and 22 lower. The BSE's Sensex opened at 83,540.74 points, initially rising to 83,707.38 points before dipping to 83,348.49 points, ultimately trading by 10 a.m. at 83,698.20 points, a gain of 288.51 points. The NSE's Nifty started at 25,505.10 points, fluctuating and settling at 25,537.45 points, up 84.05 points. In the previous session, the Sensex closed down at 83,409.69 points, and the Nifty at 25,453.40 points.
