Silchar (Assam), July 3 (HS): A landslide has once again occurred on the Silchar-Lumding hill railway line, due to which rail traffic on this route has come to a complete halt.
In a landslide near Mupa station on Thursday afternoon, soil and stones fell from the mountain and came on the rail track. Due to this, the 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express got stuck on the way, which has been brought back towards Mupa station for the time being.
The railway department has started work on a war footing to remove the debris from the track. According to railway officials, if there is no rain, the track will be reopened by night.
