Odisha Police Shines at World Police and Fire Games 2025 : Four Young Athletes Win Gold Medals, Bring Glory to State


Bhubaneswar, 3 July (H.S.): Odisha Police athletes have once again brought pride to the state and the nation with their outstanding performance at the prestigious World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Birmingham, USA. Four young athletes from the force clinched gold medals, continuing Odisha Police’s remarkable run of success on the global stage.

According to an official press release by Odisha Police, Constable Ashok Dandsena secured a gold medal in the men’s 1500-meter race, while Constable Susmita Tiga earned gold in the women’s 1500-meter event, marking a significant milestone in their athletic careers. Earlier, Dandsena had also won gold in the 800-meter race, and Tiga claimed silver in the women’s 800 meters.

In addition, Constable Bhagaban Reddy triumphed in the under-64 kg category of karate, while Constable Suman Shekhar Das clinched gold in the under-84 kg karate division, further solidifying Odisha Police’s presence in international competitive sports.

Commending the athletes for their exceptional achievements, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania extended his congratulations and best wishes. He stated that these accomplishments reflect the force’s commitment to excellence, discipline, and dedication—both in service and in sports.

The World Police and Fire Games is a biennial international event that draws participation from thousands of athletes representing police, fire, and other public safety agencies from around the world.
