Howrah, 3 July (H.S.) A fire broke out on Thursday morning at an old pitch factory located in Alampur area of Howrah district. Four fire engines were rushed to the spot, and firefighting operations are currently underway.

As of the time of reporting, the blaze had not been fully brought under control.

According to local residents, work was ongoing at the factory as usual on Thursday morning when people suddenly noticed smoke rising from the premises. As they approached the site, they saw flames erupting inside.

Initially, one fire engine arrived on the spot, but their number was soon increased to four. Firefighters are facing significant challenges in trying to douse the flames.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. Officials told that the real cause will only be determined after the fire is completely extinguished.

The incident has caused panic in the surrounding area. Local residents are reportedly frightened. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
