Lucknow,
03 July (HS): According to a statement, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet authorized
the building of a controlled-access greenfield link expressway connecting the
Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway on Thursday. The
initiative, which was authorized in a meeting headed by Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, aims to improve connectivity along significant regional corridors.
According
to Uttar Pradesh's Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ''Nandi,''
the expressway will be an important part of the state's emerging expressway
grid, connecting existing and upcoming corridors such as the Agra-Lucknow
Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Ganga Expressway (under construction),
Bundelkhand Expressway, and Gorakhpur Link Expressway, allowing for smoother
travel across Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Ghazipur. It is
intended to create both direct and indirect job opportunities.
He
stated that the proposed highway would have six lanes (which may be expanded to
eight), a length of 49.96 kilometers, and will be built using the Engineering,
Procurement, and Construction (EPC) approach. The whole project cost has been
estimated at Rs 4,775.84 crore, which would be totally paid by the state
government. Nandi explained that the network is intended to enable seamless,
speedy access to every area of the state while also boosting regional
development through improved logistics and transportation.
