Jalgaon, 03 July (HS): Two Forest Guards were
arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 for granting
permission to cut a teak plant. Dilip Bhaidas Patil (52) and Vaishali
Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad (38), both of Parola Forest Region in Jalgaon, were caught
red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The complainant had entered into a deal to buy a
teak plant for Rs 60,000. He had applied for permission to cut the tree. When
the two Forest Guards demanded a bribe, he lodged a complaint. Police arrested
them and have registered an offence against them.
