New Delhi, July 29 (H.S.): During the Lok Sabha discussion on Operation Sindoor, Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, raised critical questions regarding the operation and its implications. He inquired about the country backing Pakistan and emphasized that the threats from China are as significant as those from terrorism.
Yadav questioned the government's decision to declare a ceasefire while the armed forces were in a position of strength and critiqued the involvement of U.S. President Donald Trump in this context. He urged the need for a strategy to ensure peaceful borders, highlighting the negligence during the Pahalgam attack which raised public concerns about security lapses, particularly as civilians visited based on government assurances. He demanded accountability for the failure of the intelligence system, referencing previous incidents like the Pulwama attack where no responsibility was assigned.
Yadav characterized Operation Sindoor as a government failure, indicating it undermines the country's sovereignty and criticized the lack of international support during the crises, reflecting a broader failure of India's foreign policy.
