Belfast, July 29(HS): Orla Prendergast’s unbeaten 67 runs led Ireland to a four-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI, clinching the series 2-0. Ireland had previously won the T20 series 3-0 against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe chose to bat first but struggled early, falling to 54/4 by the 17th over. Captain Chipo Mugeri (56) and Modester Mupachikwa (45) formed a crucial 94-run partnership for the fifth wicket, but once broken, Zimbabwe collapsed from 148/4 to all out for 178 runs. Alana Dalzell shone with the ball for Ireland, taking 4 wickets for 36 runs, while Laura McBride picked up 3 wickets. Ireland’s innings started poorly, losing Sarah Forbes and Amy Hunter early. However, Gaby Lewis (44) and Prendergast steadied the ship, and Prendergast's innings secured her both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series honors.
