Beijing, July 29 (H.S.): Heavy rain and floods in Beijing have resulted in 30 fatalities, with 28 in Miyun District and 2 in Yanqing District. Authorities have relocated 80,332 people from affected areas to safer locations, mainly from Miyun, Huairou, and Fangshan districts.
The Beijing Meteorological Service warns of continued heavy rainfall through Tuesday, raising concerns of worsening conditions. The Global Times reports significant damage from the excessive rainfall. In response to the disaster's impact on life and property, the National Development and Reform Commission has allocated 200 million yuan (27.9 million dollars) for emergency rehabilitation efforts.
