Delhi, 29 July (H.S.): The Competition Commission of India has approved the acquisition of shareholding in Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited by Renault Group B.V. and Renault S.A.S. This involves Renault Group B.V. and Renault S.A.S acquiring equity shares and non-convertible redeemable preference shares from Nissan Motor Company Ltd. and Nissan Overseas Investments B.V. Acquirer 1, Renault Group B.V., designs, manufactures, and markets various vehicles globally, while Acquirer 2, Renault S.A.S, focuses on vehicle services, including construction and repair.

Both acquirers are under the control of Renault S.A. The target, Renault Nissan Automotive India, is engaged in manufacturing passenger vehicles and providing related services to Renault and Nissan. A detailed order from the Commission will be issued subsequently.
