Kamrup (Assam), 28 July (HS): In a horrific road accident in Kamalajari of Sonapur last night, a truck hit a 60-year-old woman. Due to which the old lady named Phooleshwari Bhadra Rahang killed on the spot. She had come on a scooty.

According to the information received, the truck coming from Aadhar Green Ethanol Company owned by Ganesh Sharma lost control while coming at high speed and hit the scooty, due to which the old lady was crushed by the truck. On the other hand, the truck along with the driver fled after causing the accident. Due to this incident, an atmosphere of excitement was created in the area.

After getting the information, Sonapur Traffic Police reached the spot and started investigation. Local people say that the terror of heavy vehicles has been prevailing in the area for a long time.

The local people were adamant on not allowing the body to be lifted from the road until the driver responsible for the accident was caught. However, later the situation calmed down after the police officers explained. The police has sent the body to the hospital for postmortem. Along with this, investigation of the case has also been started.
