Bijnor,

27 July (HS): A case of love jihad and conversion after marriage came to light

on Sunday in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. On the complaint of the victim

woman, the city police station has registered a case and arrested five accused.

City police station in-charge Uday Pratap Singh said that a woman had given a

complaint a few days ago that for the last 10 months she was working with her

husband in a clothes shop in Kiratpur. She often quarreled with her husband.

Taking advantage of this, shopkeeper Tariq became close to her. He got a room

on rent in Mandawar and started living with her. It is alleged that during this

time the shopkeeper had physical relations with her.

On

February 23, Tariq took her to Najibabad along with Adnan, Nasreen, Maharaj and

a woman named Asma. Here Tariq gave her intoxicating drugs and married her in

the presence of clerics. She was named Ayesha. After this, he took her to

Apollo Hospital in Delhi and a private hospital in Rishikesh and tried to sell

her kidney, but when she opposed, he brought her to Mandawar. Tariq had

threatened her that if she opens her mouth in front of anyone, she and her

child will be killed.

On

July 21, Tariq and his friends gave her drugs and beat her up. They tried to

kill her by giving her poison. Hurt by their harassment, the woman has filed a

case against Tariq and his friends in the city police station. The police

officer said that on the basis of the woman's complaint, the police have

arrested the accused Mohammad Tariq; Nasreen wife of Mohammad Tariq, Nadeem,

Ayan and Aman alias Suleman and further action is being taken.
