Kokrajhar (Assam), 27 July (HS): A unique confluence of sports and service was witnessed during the grand opening ceremony and inaugural match of the Durand Cup 2025 at SAI STC Stadium in Kokrajhar, where the Army Recruiting Office, Narangi, organized a special outreach campaign to spread awareness among youth about career opportunities in the Indian Army.
Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of one of India’s most prestigious football tournaments and the presence of an enthusiastic crowd, the initiative aimed to provide comprehensive information about the Army’s recruitment process. Representatives from the recruiting office were present to explain various entry schemes such as Agniveer, NDA, TES, and CDS, along with eligibility criteria and the benefits of a military career.
Interactive displays and a dedicated information center set up by the Army attracted active participation from students, aspirants, and local youth. The initiative offered face-to-face engagement with Army personnel, simplifying the understanding of the selection process and presenting a clear picture of life in uniform.
Military officials emphasized the value of such platforms, stating that the initiative goes beyond recruitment — it is a nation-building effort aimed at inspiring the youth to serve the country with pride, discipline and a sense of purpose.
The Indian Army’s presence at the Durand Cup added a new dimension to the tournament, strengthening the message of patriotism, tradition, and opportunity. As the match began on the field, a powerful message resonated off the field as well — a career in the Army is not just a job, it is a calling.
