New Delhi, July 24 (H.S.): The domestic stock market is facing pressure in early trading today. Initially, there was strong trading; however, selling pressure quickly emerged, pushing the Sensex and Nifty indices into negative territory. By 10 AM, the Sensex showed a decrease of 0.26 percent, while Nifty was down by 0.18 percent. Among notable stocks, Tata Motors, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Tata Consumer Products, Ather Energy, and Eicher Motors reported gains between 2.29 percent and 1.01 percent. Conversely, shares of Trent Limited, Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Mahindra, Infosys, and Bajaj Finance faced declines ranging from 1.92 percent to 0.51 percent.
During the trading session, 2,398 stocks were active, with 1,341 in the green and 1,057 in the red. In the Sensex, 8 out of 30 stocks benefited from buying support, while 22 faced selling pressure. Similarly, in the Nifty, 21 of 50 stocks were up, and 29 were down. The BSE Sensex opened at 82,779.95 points but saw a decline to 82,508.67 points, losing 217.97 points. The NSE Nifty opened at 25,243.30 points and fell to 25,175 points, down by 44.90 points. The previous closing on Wednesday for the Sensex was 82,726.64 points, and Nifty was at 25,219.90 points.
