Washington, 23 July (H.S.): A spokesperson for former President Obama, Patrick Rodenbush, condemned Trump's accusations of treason against Obama, claiming he attempted to rig the 2016 and 2020 elections. Rodenbush labeled the allegations as “ridiculous” and a “weak attempt at distraction,” stating that while they typically do not respond to misinformation from the current administration, these claims warranted a reply.

He emphasized that recent documents do not undermine the consensus that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 election without altering votes, a fact corroborated by a 2020 bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report. Trump's comments came in response to a question about the Epstein case, where he insisted Obama was guilty of serious crimes related to the elections, asserting that “this was treason” and accusing Obama of trying to steal the election.
