Madrid, July 23 (H.S.): Athletic Bilbao has re-signed right-back Jesus Areso from Osasuna for approximately 12 million euros, marking his second stint at the club with a six-year contract until 2031.

Areso, 26, previously joined Athletic in 2017 for 450,000 euros and has since played 76 La Liga matches for Osasuna following a serious leg injury. Known for his speed and aggression, he replaces Oscar de Marcos, who retired after a club record 572 matches.

Additionally, Athletic Bilbao is reportedly close to re-signing Aymeric Laporte from Al-Nassr. The club finished fourth in La Liga last season and aims to return to the Champions League.
