Patna, July 22 (HS): Two men, and Raviranjan, suspected of murdering Bihar gangster Chandan Mishra, were injured in a police encounter near Bihia, Arrah city, during a joint operation by the Special Task Force and local police. The shoot-out occurred around 6 am on the Bihia-Kateya road. Balwant, from Buxar, allegedly participated directly in the hospital shooting of Mishra, who was shot dead inside a Patna hospital on July 17 while on parole.
Raviranjan, a local resident, sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh, while Balwant was shot in his arms and legs. They were initially taken to Bihia hospital and later transferred to Arrah for better treatment under police security. Additionally, a third suspect, Abhishek Kumar, has been arrested. CCTV footage of the incident showed five armed men attacking Mishra in the ICU.
Previously, Bihar and Kolkata Police arrested the prime accused, Tauseef alias Badshah, along with his cousin Nishu Khan and two aides. They face multiple charges, including under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act. Four other shooters identified from the footage remain at large, and efforts to locate them are ongoing.
