New Delhi, July 22(HS): The domestic stock market faced pressure in early trading today, starting with initial gains that were soon overshadowed by selling pressure. By 10 AM, the Sensex showed a minor gain of 0.12 percent, while the Nifty gained just 0.01 percent. Key stocks like Eternal, ICICI Bank, Bharat Electronics, Ultratech Cement, and Trent Limited saw gains between 10.99 percent and 0.60 percent, whereas Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, Shriram Finance, Cipla, and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories faced losses ranging from 1.35 percent to 0.71 percent.
A total of 2,445 shares were traded, with 1,391 in the green and 1,054 in the red. In the Sensex, out of 30 shares, 10 were positive and 20 negative; in the Nifty, 17 shares were gaining while 33 were losing. The BSE Sensex opened at 82,527.43 points, initially rising 327.09 points before falling to 82,257.25 due to selling.
By 10 AM, it rebounded to 82,298.07 points, up by 97.73 points. Similarly, the Nifty began at 25,166.65 points, climbed initially, then fell to 25,089.40 points under selling pressure, but recovered to 25,092.05 points by 10 AM, up 1.35 points. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed up 442.61 points at 82,200.34, while the Nifty gained 122.30 points to finish at 25,090.70.
