Muzaffarnagar,
21 July (HS): According to police, two kanwariyas were killed and three others
injured in two different incidents in Muzaffarnagar district on Monday. In the
first incident, a 28-year-old kanwariya (Lord Shiva devotee) named Amit died
and three others were injured when their pickup truck overturned near the Simli
bypass on Sunday night.
According
to Station House Officer (SHO) Jaiveer Singh Bhati, the four kanwariyas were
returning from Haridwar to Mahendragarh after collecting Ganga water when the
tragedy occurred. The wounded people were brought to the hospital.
Moreover
on Sunday night, a 35-year-old kanwariya named Vicky, a resident of Najafgarh
in Delhi, was discovered unconscious near Panchenda Bridge on the
Delhi-Dehradun National Highway. According to SHO Dinesh Chand Baghel, Vicky
was transported to the hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead. He is said
to have died from head injuries after being hit by an unidentified car while
going back to Delhi from Haridwar. The
corpse has been submitted for postmortem.
