Truck carrying Kanwariyas crashes, driver killed


Nagon (Assam), 21 July (HS): The truck driver killed on the spot when a truck carrying Kanwariyas crashed in Kaliabar area of Nagon district. At least 25 Kanwariyas were seriously injured in the accident.

Police said that on Monday, the truck carrying Kanwariyas from Shivsagar to Dhekiajuli went out of control and overturned in a pit on the side of the road. Due to which the truck driver killed on the spot.

25 Kanwariyas including children and women travelling in the truck were injured. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot and sent all the injured to Tezpur for treatment. Police is investigating the matter by registering an FIR in this regard.
