Udhampur, 21 July (H.S.):
In
a continued drive against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police has registered
three separate NDPS cases, recovered
contraband substances and arrested six accused.
During
naka checking at Garnai Chowk NHW, a Tata Yodha
(JK14J-9447) coming from Udhampur side was intercepted. 10.540 kg poppy
straw was recovered from the cabin of the said vehicle.
Three
accused persons identified as Javaid Ahmed of Pulwama, Bashir Ahmed of Qazikund and Abdul Wahid of Udhampur were
arrested.
In
this regard, A Case FIR No. 114/2025 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS
Rehambal.
In
a second case during traffic checking at Tikri, a motorcycle (JK14-7119) was
stopped and 8.77 grams of heroin were recovered from two persons, namely
Parshotam Kumar of Neeli Nallah and Koushal Sharma of Kambal Danga both were
arrested on the spot.
In
this regard, FIR No. 113/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS
Rehambal.
In
other case Kud area 975 grams Ganja Seized, a Honda City (CH03Z-4486) coming
from Patnitop was intercepted at Kud. 975 grams of Ganja was recovered from the
vehicle. Accused namely Rakesh Masih of Jammu was arrested.
In
this regard, A Case FIR No. 33/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station
Kud.
